REDWOOD CITY, CA — Visitors to Redwood City's downtown will see a new digital parking signage system in place.

The project, unveiled by the Redwood City Improvement Association in partnership with the City of Redwood City's Transportation and Parking Department, covers 400 on-street spaces and 11 garages, seven surface lots for a total of 4,000 parking spaces.

There are also 23 LED signs throughout downtown that display 360 degrees of live parking information.

"We are thrilled to be unveiling this new digital signage throughout the neighborhood," said Amy Buckmaster, Executive Director of the Redwood City Improvement Association. "Real-time parking guidance is imperative for a positive driving experience in our downtown. Initiatives such as these digital parking signs, not only promote and grow the community but also improve the experience for people visiting downtown."

The new system will provide drivers with precise data about available spaces and also integrate with Redwood City's mobile app to better aid people visiting downtown, according to a news release.

The city also hopes to improve traffic flow and reduce emissions from vehicles that are idle, the association said.
