Disney store fans will be in for a real treat when the new $2.8billion Terminal C opens at Orlando International Airport on September 20, 2022.

Orlando’s state-of-the-art expansion project has taken five years to complete and includes 1.8 million square feet of bright, high-tech internal space.

It also features a raft of smart retail experiences, with the Walt Disney World Store front and center with a completely eye-catching look that will be ready to offer a wide range of apparel and souvenirs, which include Marvel and Star Wars merchandise as well as collectibles from the resort’s 50th anniversary collection.

While the interior is suitably bright and Disneyesque, it is the exterior that really sparkles, thanks to a huge, continually changing 3D screen display that takes up much of the frontage.

Design Director Steve Carsella wanted the store to stand out amongst the glittering parade of digital signage and other displays, which are practically wall to wall in the new terminal’s Palm Court departure area.

Carsella stated in the Disney Parks Blog, “This challenge, combined with the beautiful backdrop of this store and the massive digital real estate, was inspiring. This is now a magical place, not merely screens, where the possibilities are endless.”

Another highlight of the new store’s exterior is the Instagramable moment with a Pluto statue along the side wall, in addition to more castle imagery.

Merchandise Presentation team leader David Solimon also believes they have created something special to wow visitors when they step through the doors.

“This location is different in many ways,” he explained in the Disney Parks Blog. “There are so many gorgeous details to take note of, from the LED wallpaper and a sculpted castle to the oversized park icons placed on the ceiling in the center atrium.”

Solimon and his team are still putting the finishing touches to the store ahead of the terminal’s grand debut, but they expect to be fully ready for the prestigious opening event, which will mark Orlando’s transition to “The Airport of the Future.”

Disney won’t be the only theme park represented in the retail section of Terminal C, though. Universal Orlando is highly visible with a two-story storefront highlighted by Harry Potter merchandise, while SeaWorld also has an outlet, resplendent with a giant stingray motif next to a circular entryway.

Other stores include one each for Sunglass Hut, Trip Advisor, City Arts Market, 3Sixty Duty Free, and Brighton.

There are also two notable Disney Springs restaurateurs that will have outlets in the new terminal, with a Wine Bar George bar and Art Smith’s Summer House restaurant, both in Palm Court.
