LONDON – Aerocloud Systems has been given the opportunity to provide the Bahamas’ largest airport with Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS) and Gate management systems (GMS). The state-of-the-art modular platform is planned to be introduced in the third quarter of 2022.

They are hoping to revolutionise the way Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA)  processes the millions of passengers it welcomes through its gates over the next three years.

The automation based, 100% cloud-native software is looking to optimise LPIA using its predictive capabilities. It can improve future gate allocation, whilst also providing feedback to airport stakeholders with trends and analysis on things such as cancellations, delays and diversions.

Just 3 weeks ago Aerocloud announced a merger with passenger processing specialist Flight Solutions LTD. This looks to have been key throughout the deal that has brought the company to The Bahamas.

Requirements for regional airports have doubled since 2019, and the current infrastructure is struggling to keep up with the demand. This is where the recent merger between Aerocloud and Flight Solutions LTD pays dividends.

The staff on the ground will be thankful for the Artificial Intelligence driven system that creates more efficient day-to-day running of commercial aprons, whilst also reducing the number of manual tasks needed using its innovative forward planning features. These features allow them to plan gate scenarios up to three months in advance through machine learning and artificial intelligence, with little to no manual intervention required.

These changes within LPIA won’t just benefit the staff. The public using the airport should start to see shorter waiting times at both check-in desks and gates prior to boarding. Utilising the software predictive approach to operational events, such as spikes in passenger numbers and congestion on the apron and gate areas will improve.
