Jun. 17—Willoughby Hills City Engineer Pietro DiFranco is currently taking bids for the City Hall front lot resurfacing.

DiFranco hopes to get the bids back soon to be able to improve the parking lot at 35405 Chardon Road.

Meanwhile, the city's Service Department continues to fill potholes around the city.

And Zoning Inspector Patrick Hopkins continues to cite property owners who have building and zoning violations on their property such as unlicensed vehicles, and tall grass that exceeds the city's laws, said Willoughby Hills Mayor Andy Gardner.

"All these efforts should serve to ensure that our city has a nice aesthetic look to both our residents and visitors to our city," Gardner said.

In addition, the Maypine Subdivision project, at 32700 White Road, will be on the next Planning and Zoning Commission and Architectural Board of Review agenda. It will then go to Council.

The initial plan for the project was an 18-acre parcel where 12 subplots of at least one acre were proposed, with four of the lots facing White Road and the remaining units rounding out a small cul-de-sac where the street would be built as a new public right of way.

The plan has been amended and must be approved by Planning Commission, according to the municipality.

The Planning Commission also reviewed the concept for two LED signs for the city. One would replace the current City Hall sign and the second would replace the sign at the Community Center, located at 35400 Chardon Road.

"It would give us a chance to display upcoming events and notifications and would serve to enhance the beauty of our City Hall and Community Center complex," DiFranco said. "Review of additional design is underway to ensure the best possible product since this will be something that the city will enjoy for a long time to come."
