The video wall with a value of USD 1 million and 20 million pixels uses LG LEDs with a pixel pitch of 1.56 mm in a 32 x 8 cabinet configuration and a customized installation system of Peerless-AV.

Peerless-AV and LG Canada are the main suppliers of Canada's largest hotel LED video wall project, which is located in the Westin Bear Mountain Resort and Golf Spa in Victoria, British Columbia.

The president and CEO of Westin Bear Raoul Malak wanted to provide a video wall monitor that could "reimagine the guest experience". He called for a solution that would allow the banquet hall to be used for golf tournaments and sports events, as well as for watching sports events. Used as background for weddings, company meetings and other events.

NovMega Digital Solutions is a commercial audio and video contractor whose task is to manage a direct view LED (dvLED) video wall project, which is scheduled to begin in April 2020.

For this project, NovMega specified a 1.56 mm pixel pitch LG LSCB series of dvLED displays in a 32 wide x 8 high cabinet configuration, and Peerless-AV provides a customized seamless custom dvLED mounting system.

The result is considered to be the dvLED wall with the highest pixel density in Canada, with a total of more than 20 million pixels and a value of more than $1 million. A total of 256 LG cabinets (1,024 modules) are provided. Each cabinet is marked with its exact location on the wall and needs to be unpacked in an orderly manner.

The cabinet is cableless, and all power supplies are cascaded from one cabinet to another. The heat ratio of 65/35 allows installation in shallow cavities. From a maintenance perspective, everything can be repaired, maintained or replaced from the front.

Using the four independent inputs of the video wall, the hotel can divide the screen into four 4K 16:9 aspect ratio sections to display or stream different content. The interior wall control technology is provided by Datapath and Crestron for the video matrix, and nView's proprietary remote viewing software allows full control of the video wall from NovMega HQ.

"It's great to see my vision come alive," Westin Bear's Malak said. "I want to set a technological benchmark in the Canadian hotel market and increase the added value of guests and visitors. We not only have an amazing venue, but we also have the largest video wall in Western Canada. The entire summer banquet hall is fully booked."

"The bride at the first wedding banquet after installing the video wall was shocked. It made me very happy to see her and other guests' reactions. LG Canada has named the installation as the '2021 AV Project of the Year', and I feel that Very proud."
