Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Review:-Mobile Phone-PC World Australia

Motorola's Edge 20 Fusion has long battery life, 5G capabilities, a fast processor, and a rear camera that can capture details at close range. These factors add up to make it a full performer.

If you are looking for a mid-range phone that supports 5G, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is a good choice. Its 108-megapixel rear sensor can take detailed photos at close range, and the 5000 mAh battery means you don’t have to rush to charge your phone every day. More importantly, the 6.7-inch OLED display of the phone is spacious, and the 90Hz refresh rate of the display keeps the visual effect smooth. Motorola's Edge 20 Fusion also benefits from numerous software enhancements that take full advantage of its hardware configuration. This includes a simple application that can easily connect your phone to your PC, making file sharing easy.

Display: 6.7-inch FHD+ (2400x1080p) OLED (90Hz refresh rate)

Fingerprint sensor: side-mounted, face unlock

Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11

Rear camera: wide-angle: 108 megapixels (f/1.9); ultra-wide-angle camera: 8 pixels (f/2.2) 118-degree FOV: depth camera: 2 pixels (f/2.4)

Front camera: wide angle: 32 megapixels (f/2.25)

Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is behind the Edge 20 and top Edge 20 Pro in the company's Edge 20 series product line. These devices are an upgraded version of the entry-level G series, but still very affordable. All three Edge series models have practical features, but Fusion seems to have (arguably) three of the best: a good rear camera, 5G capabilities, and a large battery capacity of 5000mAh.

However, it is only 499 Australian dollars, 200 Australian dollars cheaper than Motorola Edge 20 (699 Australian dollars), 400 Australian dollars cheaper than Edge 20 Pro, which seems to be excellent value for money. It has two colors: Electric Graphite and CyberTeal. In Australia, it can be obtained from JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, Big W, MobileCiti and Lenovo Online.

You can also purchase Motorola Edge 20 Fusion through Vodafone's postpaid plan (see widget below).

In terms of design, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has rounded edges and slim bezels, with a thickness of only 8.2 mm. These features give it a high-end appearance, and the ultra-thin camera box on the back contains a three-camera array.

Edge 20 Fusion also has an attractive, smooth-touch surface that can hide fingerprints well. Motorola uses the Electric Graphite color (the color of our review unit). The right color tone can eliminate the glare of indoor lighting while still showing off the stylish Motorola "bat" logo on the back. However, its mid-range status has some giveaways. The display is flat, not curved like Samsung's high-end phones. The build quality of the phone also shows that the plastic case on the back causes some movement (with pressure).

Having said that, it is commendable that Motorola comes with a silicone protective cover in the box, if you combine it with a high-quality gel screen protector, you should be able to avoid any damage caused by a drop.

The large 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2400) HDR10+ display is extremely responsive due to its 90Hz refresh rate. Moving in and out of applications and web pages is easy. In this mode, the phone does consume more battery power, but fortunately, Motorola provides you with the option to switch from a 90Hz refresh rate to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is a wise idea when not in heavy use.

Motorola's choice of OLED rather than LED display is a wise move. Motorola says it can display more than 1 billion colors. I found that it produces deep blacks and bright color images that look realistic rather than painted, which is common in mid-range phones. However, even at the highest brightness setting, white will be a bit bluish. Another problem is the position of the punch-hole front camera on the phone display, which is about 3 mm from the top border. Some users may prefer to locate more discrete phones.

The 108-megapixel sensor of Motorola's Edge 20 Fusion is the same sensor that appears in Samsung's Galaxy S20 series of smartphones. It's a bit old now, but it seems appropriate in mid-range phones in 2021, and it provides an affordable way to add detail and extra light to the image.

Its method is through a process called pixel binning, in which data from multiple pixels are combined into one to create "super pixels", which can better process the light in the image. For the 108-megapixel sensor in Motorola’s Edge 20 Fusion, the sensor combines 9 pixels into one pixel to generate a 12-megapixel image. As you can see from the purple flower image below, this produces a detailed picture with bright colors and deep contrast, especially in well-lit conditions. This is especially noticeable at close range, where Motorola's 108-megapixel sensor really works.

If you want to take relatively static photos, such as a birthday party, your cat or flowers in a local park, the Edge 20 Fusion’s rear camera will take some great photos.

However, to be honest, its camera is a bit slow and it is difficult to capture clear action shots. The Edge 20 Fusion's camera partly compensates for this with a long list of useful software enhancements, including the ability to click anywhere to shoot, and the quick shooting function that allows you to twist your wrist twice to turn on the rear camera.

If you have a special lens, you can also increase the level of detail of the image by setting the rear camera to high-resolution mode. This mode does capture more details, but the image size is 12,000 x 9,000 pixels, which can be up to 33MB. This is a great feature that I use to take some very detailed outdoor photos-the images show better contrast in the dark and shadows compared to the images taken in the default mode. See the comparison below.

Motorola Edge 20 Fusion uses Motorola's My UX operating system. Fortunately, it is an almost stock experience of Android 11, with only a few subtle differences. For example, Google’s search bar is square instead of round, and Android 11’s application drawer is more spacious than in My UX, but these differences will not affect the user experience. Motorola also chose to keep the application selection in the useful Google favorites, so there is no need to delete too much bloated software.

Motorola's Moto application is one of the best features of My UX. Here, you will find a large number of personalized settings, such as wallpaper and font selection, you can apply them to give your phone a unique style. You can also learn some convenient gesture controls to make it easier for you to use your phone, such as using three-finger gestures to take screenshots.

A prominent feature of the Moto app is Motorola's "ready". I used to connect my review phone with my PC to remotely transfer files and control my phone. This feature is very useful for updating my photo library and saves me from having to perform multiple steps of uploading and downloading files via DropBox.

Motorola Edge 20 Fusion runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor. Despite its name, it cannot match the processing power of the premium chipset represented by the number 800, such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+.

Nevertheless, it performed very well in benchmark comparisons with Oppo A74 5G, another mid-range phone that supports 5G, and outperforms Oppo's Qualcomm Snapdragon 4805G processor in terms of CPU speed and computing benchmarks. Although its CPU score is only slightly better than Oppo, Edge 20 Fusion is far ahead of Oppo in its Open CL and Vulcan benchmark scores. takeout? Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is a better choice for games, demonstrating the power of running graphics-demanding games.

In my battery test, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has a long service life and can stay powered on for several days under moderate use of the application. It lasted from noon on Thursday to Saturday night, two full days later. The long battery life can be attributed to Motorola's large battery capacity of 5000mAh, which is larger than the 4000mAh battery capacity of some high-end mobile phones (such as the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G). Despite the large battery size, Motorola managed to reduce the weight of the phone to 185 grams (despite the plastic backing). Although not particularly light, it is light enough to fit in a pocket without burden.

Motorola's Edge 20 Fusion has a long battery life, supports 5G, and the rear camera can capture details at close range. The processor of Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is very capable of powering graphics-demanding games, and it should be an attractive choice for those looking for a mid-range all-round game console.

Dynabook Portégé X30L-G

In the end, this laptop fulfilled all my expectations of a laptop while incorporating it into an extraordinary shape and weight.

This smart laptop is pleasant to use and great at work-creating content is very simple.

It really doesn't have more "gaming laptops" than this.

As the Maserati or BMW in laptops, it is very suitable for professionals who need firepower under the hood, superficial sophistication and first-rate gaming capabilities (sports mode) in between.

The MSI PS63 is an amazing laptop, and I will definitely consider buying it in the future.

This small mobile printer is exactly what I need for invoices and other tasks, such as sending peer details or step-by-step instructions, which I can easily print from my mobile phone or the Web.
