Narrow pixel pitch display with two double-sided subtitles installed in summer

Brookings, South Dakota-Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) in Brookings, South Dakota designed, manufactured and installed the University of North Carolina Pembroke (UNCP) Student Center on the campus of Pembroke, North Carolina A new narrow pixel pitch LED display. The installation includes two double-sided marquee displays and will be held this summer to welcome students back to campus in the fall.

"LED displays have become the real focus of the Chavez University Center," said Dr. Jeff Howard, UNCP Vice President of Student Affairs. "This is both a great way to promote campus events, and it can also be the event itself when displaying content such as sports events or video games. Double-sided subtitles are very popular and used to promote campus events to our campus and the community. UNCP and our The students certainly approve of these new promotion opportunities."

The narrow pixel pitch display has a pixel pitch of 1.6 mm, is about 7 feet high and about 14 feet wide. It allows students to participate in the main gathering areas of the campus while sharing real-time feeds of campus activities and other university information. It is capable of variable content partitioning, allowing it to display a large image or be divided into multiple areas to display a combination of video, graphics, and messages at the same time.

"Campus communication is an extremely important aspect for students and universities in the world today," said Corey Williams, Daktronics sales representative for the project. "Implementing high-quality, close-up LED technology in this space gives UNCP an advantage in connecting with students and changing information quickly and easily. We are happy and honored to bring these LED displays to their campus."

Two double-sided marquee displays were also installed on the campus. One is located at the main entrance and welcomes visitors to the campus. It is about 6.5 feet high and 11 feet wide. Another show is located outside the Givens Performing Arts Center to welcome the audience and inform them of upcoming events. The display is approximately 4 feet high and 9 feet wide. The pixel pitch of both double-sided displays is 10 mm.

To connect and control these new displays, Daktronics includes Venus® Control Suite in this installation. This flexible and powerful solution can arrange content on indoor and outdoor displays in one control space anytime, anywhere.

Daktronics offers a series of narrow pixel pitch LED displays with line pitch ranging from 2.5 mm to 0.7 mm. This product line brings vast opportunities for spaces usually associated with LCD technology to create luxurious environments, share artistic digital content, or display detailed, high-quality videos.
